RCIA16EasterVigilThis year's Easter Vigil was a bit different from the past years. The RCIA candidates get to witness the blessing of the new fire up close and see the blessing of the paschal candle first hand.

Father Phillip broke his left arm several weeks earlier and was seen sporting a 'stylish' splint to minimise movement. Father Simon, who has gone to Singapore for studies, was back on holiday and helped Father Phillip out. Even if Father Phillip had not broken his arm, he would have come back to Assumption anyway, so says Father Simon. And the RCIA candidates get their mugshots displayed on a huge banner near the entrance for all parishioners to see!

The vigil began at 9:30 pm with the RCIA candidates surrounding the fire to see the blessing of the fire before proceeding into the church to take their allocated seats.
